Purpose of Establishment and History

Established pursuant to Article 15 of the Framework Act on Broadcasting and Communications Development (Act No. 11690).

Establishment
To contribute to the development of broadcasting and telecommunications and the promotion of public welfare by strengthening cooperation and solidarity among members.

  • 1987 ~ 1991

    With the launch of large-scale national ICT projects in the 1980s, the Association was established in 1987 as a private organization representing the industry. It laid the foundation for Korea to become a leading ICT nation by building the environment and infrastructure for the ICT industry and promoting public awareness of informatization through various initiatives.
